Carrie Helen Lester Garrett, 81, formerly a long-time resident of Beaumont, Ky ,died April 24, 2013 at Canyon Cove Assisted Living in Orem, Ut. She was born on July 24, 1932 to the late Sanford Ezra Lester and Hylus Lee White Lester. She was preceded in death by her husband James Murison Garrett and four brothers, Murl, Tennison, Raymond and Wayne Lester.
"Helen" had a passion for cooking and fed numerous missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of which she was a faithful member. Her church, her family, and her many neighbors and friends brought her much joy and contentment. She took great pride in keeping a nice home and also loved canning home-grown food and reading. In her later years, she kept busy as a home-health care-taker.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Diane Neal of Orem, UT ,her son, James Nathan Garrett (Freida), of Pembroke Pines, FL, sisters Juanita Miller and Hazel McFarland of Glasgow and brother Frank Lester of Willow Shade, She has 7 grandchildren and 10 great grand-children.
A viewing will be held at the McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade on Tuesday, April 30th from 2 to 7 and on Wednesday beginning at 11:30 am at the Glasgow ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 748 W. Cherry Street, Glasgow,after which funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Summer Shade Cemetery.

WALTER STANLEY FORBIS
Walter Stanley Forbis, Summer Shade, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at T J Samson Hospital. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Roger and Vestie Forbis.
He is survived by two sons, John Forbis, Summer Shade, and Frank Forbis (Marilyn), Hopkinsville; one grandchild, Amy L. Wilson (Jason), Elkton; two great grandchildren, Jacey and Jamie Wilson; and one sister Lorene. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; one son, Henry; and three brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3:00 at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, and Tuesday until 1:00. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 1:30 at White Cemetery in Monroe County.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Tammy Lynn Branham
Tammy Lynn Branham, age 46, of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, April 17 at her home. She was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Freeman Branham and Anna Lee Dubree Branham Welsh. She was a member of the Summer Shade Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Greg Branham and one sister, Becky Dubree both of Summer Shade; four nieces, Terran Pedigo and Candice Branham both of Summer Shade, April Brown of Temple Hill and Hallie Branham of Edmonton; one great niece, Kimber Anne Branham of Temple Hill; three aunts, Betty ( Kenneth ) Wilkerson of Tompkinsville, Emogene Faith of Louisville and Bessie Holmes of Glasgow; two very special friends, Tonya Wilkerson of Glasgow and Robin Jones of Center, Ky., several local cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, at l:00 P M at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Chad White officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Friday, April 19, at 2:00 P M at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Glass, age 86, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 14, 2013. MALINDA KAYE FARLEE
Malinda Kaye Farlee, age 67 of Marrowbone, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was a daughter of the late Jessee Otis and Lovie Anderson Hurt. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roy M. Farlee; one daughter, Lora (Doug ) Babcock of Burkesville; three sons, Jackie ( Tracy )Simpson and Jerry Simpson both of Edmonton and John ( Pam ) Simpson of Marrowbone; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Cooksey, Jason Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Natasha Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Donald Anderson and Tonya Anderson Scott; five great grandchildren, Alexander Savage Cawthorne, Andrew Cooksey, Jake Simpson, Justin Scott and Nicholas Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchldren, Jeffrey Savage and Justin Simpson and one brother, Radford Hurt.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 10 at 2:00 PM at the House of Prayer Church with Bro. Phil Lowry and Bro.Wes Jolly officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery.
