Emma Jean (Jeanie)
Bass Hughes, age 84, of Edmonton ,
died January 23, 2015, at T J Samson Hospital.
Born March 26, 1930,
in Marvel, Arkansas ,
she was a daughter of the late Richard and Lucy Dulaney Bass. She was the wife
of the late Mackie Hughes.
She was the owner of
Hughes Grocery for 24 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include
two daughters, Debra (Dwight) Daugherty, Edmonton, and Lynna (Tim)
Hughes-Baker, Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Bethany Young, Edmonton,
Pamela McKinney Mosby, Glasgow and Jamison Hunley, Scottsville; four great grandchildren,
Emily Young and Hali Mosby, Edmonton, Latasha Mosby, Glasgow, and Gretchen
Mosby, Bowling Green; one great great grandchild Jaci Dlayne Sweet, Edmonton;
and one brother Harold (Ozane) Bass, Paris TN.
She was also
preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Herbert, Homer, and Cecil Bass,
and one sister, Katie Ruth Bass.
Cremation was chosen
and private services will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be
made through the McMurtrey Funeral Home to the American Heart Association.
