Shirley Sue Blythe
Grider, age 66, of Burkesville, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Cumberland County Hospital .
Born May 16, 1949
in Tompkinsville, she was a daughter of the late Bedford and Narcie (McWhother) Blythe, and
the wife of Billy Dewayne Grider, who survives. They were married 49 years.
She was a factory
machine operator and a member of the Hanover Church of Christ.
Survivors, in
addition to her husband, include two daughters, Tammy (Joe England) Gentry, Tompkinsville, and
Kimberly Mowers, Burkesville; one son, Joseph Dewayne (Amanda) Grider, Burkesville; two sisters, Gale (Ron)
Bridges, Summer Shade, and Linda (Roger) Hagan, Marrowbone; three brothers, Jr.
(Sandy) Blythe, Alvaton, Steve (Teresa) Blythe, Tompkinsville, and Robert
(fiancé Chrystal) Blythe, Tompkinsville;
seven grandchildren, Trance Mowers, Heaven Leighann Mowers, Brandon
Russell, Dustin Gentry, Zia Grider, and Avery and Exavier Alexander; and one great
grand child, Destiny Rayne Moore.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death
by one brother Willie Ray Blythe.
Funeral services
will be Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home,
with Brother Tim Struthers officiating. Burial will follow in the Stalcup Cemetery . Visitation with the family
will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday after
7:00 a.m. until time of funeral services.
