PHILIP CURTIS WHITLOW


   Philip Curtis Whitlow, Summer Shade, age 89 passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family.

   Philip was the first child born to the late John McKinnley and Jewell Cletus James Whitlow of the Randolph community. Philip married his childhood sweetheart, May Dell Cummins Whitlow, who survives, to whom he was a devoted husband for 62 years, and father to their five children. Together, they raised their family and farmed in the Randolph community.

   Their children include one daughter, Ann (Peter) Acree, Randolph; four sons, Jesse (Gale Pate) Whitlow,  Paul Whitlow, and Sam Whitlow all of Randolph, and David Whitlow (John Scheller, special friend) Evansville, IN; two brothers Preston and Jackie Whitlow, both of Scottsville; one sister, Linda Dick, Scottsville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special caregivers along the way were Deana Dodson, Angie McCoy, Angela Buckland and Crystal Hutton.

   He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ettie Marie Compton, Eva Nell Hargis, and Annie Jewell Rigsby, one sister-in-law, Earlene Whitlow and three brothers-in-laws Pete Compton, Jim Hargis and Hughie Rigsby.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph. Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 22, 2017, after 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to T J Samson Hospice.

Otis Taylor Turner


  Otis Taylor Turner, age 92 of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Marrowbone, died April 19, 2017 at home.

   He was born in Marrowbone, Ky. to the late James Elvin and Lola Ann Norris Turner.

   He was a WWII Veteran and of the Baptist faith. He worked in California most of his adult life working in the aircraft industry.

   He is survived by two daughters Deborah Turner of Glasgow and Patsy Turner of Ventura, California, and one son James Turner and wife Bobbie of Bowling Green.

   He is also survived by7 grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Jeffrey, Ricky, Mikel, Chris and Jason and 7 great grand children.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Jewell Capps Turner, one son Larry Turner, three sisters Pearl Smith, Hazel Thomas, Grace Muse and one brother Ed Turner.

  Funeral services will be Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Franklin cemetery.

  Visitation will begin Sunday April 23, 2017 from 1:00 till 7:00 pm and after 7:00 am on Monday till service time of 1:00.

   Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of Southern Ky. and can be made at the funeral home.

CHARLES WILLIAM ISENBERG




   Charles William Isenberg, age 91, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born December 12, 1925 in Edmonton, he was a son of the late Lanos and Ruby Jewel Garmon Isenberg and the husband of Emogene Crumpton Isenberg, who survives. They were married 69 ½ years.

   He was a farmer and school bus driver. He was a deacon at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one daughter Becky (John) Coulter, Glasgow; one son Joe Neal (Michelle) Isenberg, PA; three grandchildren, Chris Isenberg, Burkesville, Brian Isenberg, Franklin, Ky, and Krista Isenberg, Nashville, TN; one great grandchild, Headon Isenberg; and one step great grandchild, Alex Isenberg.

   Funeral services will be Monday, April 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.

 Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 12:00- 8:00 p.m. and continue on Monday after 7:00 till 9:00 a.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. at the church until time of services.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

William (Billy) Carlos Tyree








   William (Billy) Carlos Tyree, age 67, of Tompkinsville, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Tompkinsville.

   He is survived by one son Orlando Ray (Lisa) Tyree, Louisville; two sisters, Maxine Compton and Shirley Mays; and one grandchild Makayla Miller.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home; burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 and continue until time of services at 1:00.
   In  lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral fund.

Ollie Terry Denham


Ollie Terry Denham, age 71, of Glasgow, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born April 13, 1945 in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Mary Alice Lewis and Creed Denham, and the husband of Patsy Matthews Denham, who survives. They were married 53 years.

   He was a finish carpenter and a farmer. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a veteran of the Air Force.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one son, Greg Denham, Summer Shade; one sister Arlene (Danny) Vincent, Sweeden, Ky; and one brother Harold (Sharon) Denham, Glasgow.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.  at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Reverend Jim Adkins officiating, burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.
