HOMER LEE JENNINGS





   Homer Lee Jennings, 97, formerly of Edmonton and Lafayette, IN passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at Monroe County Medical Center.
   Born February 13, 1922 in Good Luck, KY, he was a son of the late John Andrew and Myrtie Perkins Jennings. He worked as a machine operator in the aircraft industry and was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran serving in World War 11.
   Survivors include one step daughter, Linda Carter; two step sons, Charles Whitlock and Jerry Whitlock, and several nieces and nephews.
   Preceding him in death besides his parents,  was his wife, Ollie Jennings: son, Leroy Jennings; step son; Dearil Jones; step daughter; Patricia Jester, and sister, Letha O Ford.
   Funeral services will be Saturday, January 4, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 4, 2020, 9:00 AM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM.
   In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery.

Barbara Norma Jean Parker Conatser



   Barbara Norma Jean Parker Conatser, 83, Edmonton, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
   Born December 22, 1936 in Red Cross, KY she was a daughter of the late Ona and Roy Parker and the wife of Ronald McKinley Conatser, who survives. 
   She worked at Sorenson in Glasgow 27 years.
   Survivors other than her husband include one grand daughter Christy Cross, Edmonton and one brother Denzil Parker, Louisville.
   She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Dee Williams, one son, Dee Williams and several brothers and sisters.
   Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Missionary Mound Cemetery.

Jerry Duane Sheler



   Jerry Duane Sheler, 80, Edmonton, KY passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Centennial Hospital, Nashville, TN.
   Born October 24, 1939, he was a son of the late Carl Leonard and Ruby LeDeucer Sheler and the husband of Kathy Jo Sheler, who survives. He worked as a logger, was a Christian, and an Army veteran.
   Survivors other than his wife include three sons, Jason Sheler, Lafayette, Colorado, Matthew (D Lynn) Sheler, Cadillac, Michigan and Aaron Sheler, Cadillac Michigan; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
   A service will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen.
   McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

LUCILLE SHAW HUCKELBY



   Lucille Shaw Huckelby, 84, Summer Shade, KY passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Baptist Health, Louisville.
   Born May 12, 1935 in Tompkinsville, KY, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Dora Jackson. She was a homemaker and worked with the foster grandparent program for 23 years. She was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.                                         
   Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Kelly) Jewell and Peggy (Brad) Williford both of Shelbyville, KY; one son, Stevie (Amy) Shaw, Batesville, IN; one sister, Ruth (John) Dodson, Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Bobby Jackson, Tompkinsville; 8 grandchildren, Adam Williford, Sydney (Dustin) Abild, Kyle (Megan) Williford, Megan Williford, Luke Shaw, Emily Shaw, Heidi Shaw and Chloe Shaw; three great grandchildren, Abram Williford, Hank Abild and Charlie Abild, and several nieces and nephews.
   Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband, Adam Shaw, two sisters, Edna Deckard and Loree Jackson; two brothers, Harl Jackson and Mitchell Jackson; and her second husband, Clifton Huckelby.
  Funeral services will be Friday, December 20, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at White Cemetery Chapel with Brother Cecil Shaw, officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 19, 2019, 3:00-8:00 P.M. and on Friday, December 20, 2019, 7:00-10-30 A.M at McMurtrey Funeral Home and at White Cemetery Chapel after 11:00 until time of the service at 1:00.
   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the White Cemetery.

Ronnie Coomer


Ronnie Dale Coomer, 62, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, November 2l7, 2019 at his residence. Born January 11, 1957 in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Frank and Opal Sneed Coomer. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters Maranda (Ethen) Pierce, Breeding, Sierra Coomer, Edmonton and Amanda Poole, Paducah; one brother Norman (Melissa) Coomer,

Edmonton; and five grandchildren David, Chloe, Adalyn and Graylee Pierce and Lilly Poole.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lynn Coomer; son, Ronnie Coomer Jr and brother Red Coomer.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen.

The family has requested donations be made to help with funeral expenses and can be mailed to McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY 42166.

Ova McMillin Hollinsworth



   Ova McMillin Hollinsworth, 92, Glasgow, formerly of Mud Lick, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019, at T J Samson Hospital.
   Born February 23, 1927, in Tompkinsville, she was a daughter of the late A W and Mary Belle Bartley McMillin. She was the widow of John Logan Hollinsworth.
   She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, retiring after 38 years teaching. She taught in one room schools, Jefferson, Barren and Monroe County Schools, retiring from Joe Harrison Carter. She was a member of East Main Church of Christ in Glasgow.
   Survivors include one daughter, Marla (Lee) McFarland, Glasgow; one son, Anthony Hollinsworth, Lexington; one brother, Roy (Zelma) McMillin, Louisville; two grand daughters, Lindsey (Ryan) Gearlds, Tompkinsville and Ashleigh McFarland, Glasgow; one great grand child, Holli Gearlds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were 6 sisters, Bertice McMillin, Olene McPherson, Pearl Gray, Ione Hagan, Clone Ford, and Ernestine Morgan; and five brothers Otis, Paul, A E, Richard and Robert Mitchel McMillin.
   Funeral services will be Monday, November 25, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade, burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2019, 1:00-8:00 P.M. and on Monday, November 25, 2019, 7:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 P.M.

CHARLIE [BUDDY] BAKER LONG



   Charlie [Buddy] Baker Long, 85, Burkesville, KY passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Cumberland County Hospital. Born July 9, 1934 in Albany, KY he was a son of the late Oral and Gladys Burchett Long.  He was a retired farmer and of the Methodist faith.
   Survivors include, one daughter, Kellye (Tim) Riggs, Bridgeport, NE; one son, Kane (Lori)  Long, Marrowbone; four sisters, Pat Skidmore, Montgomery, AL, Ada Jarvis, Venice, FL, Mary Doris, Frankfort, KY and Clara Qualls, Albany, KY; one brother, Billy Long, Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by one son, Kevin Long and one sister, Kay Edmondson.
   Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019, 1:00 PM at the Marrowbone Clubhouse, Marrowbone, KY, with Wayne Watts, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2019, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Marrowbone United Methodist Church.
   Cremation was chosen with McMurtrey Funeral Home assisting the family.

Shannon David Smith

Shannon David Smith, 48, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Shannon was a self-employed contractor and attended Southeast Christian Church- Southwest Campus.
He was born on September 8, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky to Terry and Margaret Smith.
   Shannon is survived by his parents, Terry Smith and Margaret Anne Smith; brother, Brian Smith; sons, Shane Smith, Chaz Smith, and Connor Hardin-Smith.
   Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Southeast Christian Church-Southwest Campus, (8301 Saint Andrews Church Rd, Louisville, KY 40258). His funeral service will follow at 4:30 pm. A private burial will follow at Summer Shade Cemetery.

BILL BAKER BRAGG



   William [Bill] Baker Bragg, 78, formerly of Knob Lick, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Glasgow State Nursing Facility. Born January 28, 1941 in Edmonton, KY he was a son of the late Leon and Minnie Avel Parrigin Bragg. He was the husband of the late Martha Bragg, who passed away March 22, 2014.
   He was a farmer and of the Church of Christ faith.
   Survivors include, one daughter Velvet (Riley) Philpott, Glasgow; three sons, Delton Bragg, Summer Shade, Jonathan (Sarah) Bragg, Mt Juliet, TN and Jeffrey (Susan) Turner, Ft. Run; five grandchildren, William Philpott Jr, Olivia Bragg, Tambra Buckley, Nicole Wade, and Meagan Turner; five great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
   Preceding him in death, besides his wife and parents, include five sisters, Lizzie, Frances, Flossie, Lois and Rebecca; and three brothers Wayne, Roy, and Wilbert.
    Funeral services will be Monday, September 23, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2019, 1:00-9:00 P.M. and on Monday, September 23, 2019 after 7:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.

JAMES CLIFTON HUCKELBY



   James Clifton Huckelby, 82, Summer Shade, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born October 26, 1936 in Dubre, Ky he was a son of the late Jesse and Floy Anderson Huckelby and the husband of Lucille Shaw Huckelby, who survives. 
   He retired from John Deere and was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.
   Survivors, other than his wife, include one brother, Jimmy (Betty) Huckelby, Wellington, IL. and several nieces and nephews.
    Preceding him in death, besides his parents, are 5 brothers, Preston, Kyle, Stanley, Phillip and Johnny Huckelby.
   Funeral services will be Saturday, September 14, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Lewis Blythe officiating. Burial will follow in the Dutch Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2019, 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, September 14, 2019, after 8:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M.

Ivan Eugene (Gene) Crumpton,


Ivan Eugene (Gene) Crumpton, age 85, of Cave City passed away September 3, 2019 at T J Samson Hospital
Born May 14, 1934 in Frankfort, Indiana, he was a son of the later George and Catherine Glass Crumpton. Gene was an avid antique dealer and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two daughters Kathy (Gary) Minor of Cave City and Sheryl Crumpton of Venice, Florida; two sons Randy (Belinda) Crumpton of Summer Shade and Nathan (Courtney) Crumpton of Summer Shade; five grandchildren Leslie (Josh) Morris, Lindsey (Troy) Stephens, Nicholas (April) Kidd, Cade Ray, Gunner Crumpton, Preslie Acree and Oakley Pruitt; five great grandchildren Lane Morris, Maddee, Jax, Marlee and Knox Stephens.
 He was preceeded in death by his parents, one son Gary Gene Crumpton, four sisters Lucille Birge, Virginia Keeling, Gola Prickett and Geneva Short.
Services will be Friday, September 6, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Dale Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at a later date as cremation was chosen.
Visitation will be Friday September 6, 2019 from 10:00-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

DEBORAH LOIS GRIDER BLYTHE


Deborah Lois Grider Blythe, 65, Summer Shade, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her home.
   Born November 11, 1953 in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mary Lois Shive Grider and the wife of Roy Blythe, who survives. They were married 47 years. She retired from the Metcalfe County School System, working 28 years, enjoyed farming and spending time with her granddaughter, Gracie. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church.
   Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one daughter, Tammy (Daryl) Harris, Glasgow; one granddaughter, Gracie Harris; one sister, Dana (Bobby) Parnell, Summer Shade; one brother, Danny (Martha) Grider, Summer Shade; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Sharon Smith and Delphia Ann Garrett.
   Funeral services will be Saturday, August 31, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Mark Park officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 3:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, August 31, 2019, 8:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.

   Deborah June Norris Turner, Edmonton, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her residence. Born May 5, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Alton Norris and Marilyn Estes Norris, Summer Shade, who survives. She was the widow of Harold Turner., who passed away December 11, 2013.
   Survivors, other than her mother, include one daughter, Donna June Turner, Edmonton and one brother, William Dwight Norris and his wife Martha, Summer Shade.
   She was preceded in death, besides her husband and father, by one son Kevin Turner.
   Funeral services will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Oak Hill Church of Christ, 1:00 P.M., with Brother Phil Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.    Betty Elaine Hagan Holley, 58, Knob Lick, KY passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at T J Samson Hospital. Born January 13, 1961, in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Bill Hagan and Katie Crenshaw Hagan, Glasgow, who survives. She was the widow of the late Jerry Holley.
   She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors, other than her mother include one daughter, Erin (Bobby) Bishop, Knob Lick; one son Josh (Stephanie-Lynn) Holley, Center; one sister, Wendy Hagan, Greensburg; one brother, Steven Crenshaw, Hiseville; five grandchildren Cricket Bishop, Jessica Bishop, Mason Holley, Connie Bishop and Jace Holley; and two aunts Dora Ann Crenshaw and Ora Lee Honeycutt.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Ray Judd officiating. Burial will follow in the Houk Cemetery.    Jeanna Annette Humphrey, 41, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Born April 9, 1978 in Glasgow she was the daughter of Carolyn Annette Lile, Glasgow and Robert Darrell Humphrey, Glasgow.
   She worked as a painter in the construction industry and was of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors, other than her parents, include two daughters, Ana and Alex; two sisters, Nicole (Danny) Davis, Edmonton and Jennifer (Jake) Mains, Glasgow; two brothers, Matt Humphrey and Brian (Brandy) Humphrey, both of Glasgow; step mother, Paula Humphrey; step father, Donald Perkins; step brother, James Perkins, Glasgow; and grandmother, Beverly Humphrey, Knob Lick.
   She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Jean Lile, Robert J Humphrey, Robert and Janette DeWeese and Morris and Lena Brown.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Roger Poynter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Dennis Kirk McClendon


Dennis Kirk McClendon, 73, of Bowling Green, formerly of Burkesville passed away July 23, 2019 at his residence. Born September 15, 1945 in Glasgow, Ky. he was the son of the late Dennis Robert and Marshall Smith McClendon.
  He was a truck driver for 48 years and of the Church of Christ faith.
  Survivors include one daughter Christina Grace McClendon of Franklin; one son Dennis Todd (Jackie) McClendon of Bowling Green; one sister Margaret Katherine Anderson of Burkesville; two grandchildren Tristen Paige Jenkins and Doc Colton McClendon; two step grandchildren Hilary Carder and Michael Carder and one great grandchild Blakley Grace Perkins.
  In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by one daughter Tonya Gail McClendon.
  There will be no immediate services as cremation was chosen.
  McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dolly Burton


Dolly Carolyn Spear Burton, age 77, of Summer Shade, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 18, 2019 at home. Born Thursday, November 6, 1941 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse “Bill” Spear and Christine Hodges Spear. She was the widow of the late Freddie Burton. She was an avid Bingo player, an employee at Country Tyme Diner and a member of the Glasgow Faith Church.

  Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Spears of Burkesville, Brenda (Tim) Parrish of Beaumont, Lisa Carter of Willow Shade and Lorie (Marvin) Calhoun of Summer Shade; one stepson Mike (Lisa) Burton of Georgetown, KY ; one brother Bob Spear of Indianapolis, IN; one sister Wanda (Bob) Williamson of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren, Johnathon (Amy) Carter, Jessica (Joe) Milam, Josh Parrish, Halee Smith, Noah (Samantha) Strode, Ethan Spears, Canyon Calhoun and Lily Calhoun; five step grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Jennifer, Robbie and Brandon and 14 great grandchildren.

  She was preceded in death besides her parents and husband by one daughter, Angela Burton; one son Fred Burton, Jr.; one stepdaughter Debbie Dykes; one brother, Jim Spear; three sisters, Francis Blankenship, Elizabeth Young and Sandy Adkins.

  Funeral services will be Sunday July 21, 2019 – 3:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Poynter officiating. Burial to follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery in Columbia, Ky.

  Visitation will be Saturday July 20, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Sunday from 8:00 A.M. till funeral time at 3:00 P.M.

   Hazel Nell Leamons, 92, formerly of Edmonton, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Fair Oak Health Systems, Jamestown, KY. Born April 2, 1927 in Beaumont, she was a daughter of the late Alice and Verdine Leamons.  She was the widow of the late Vernon [Buddy] Ketchem. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors include one brother Jimmy D. Leamons, Louisville, KY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Preceding her in death were her husband and two sons Kester and Steve Ketchem.
   Funeral services will be Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Joe Wilcoxson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiseville Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2019, 10:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.

TROY VERNON WELSH



   Troy Vernon Welsh, 86, Summer Shade, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his residence. Born November 16, 1932 in Cumberland County he was the son of the late Stonewall Lee and Dollie Frances Riddle Welsh.
   He was a retired auto mechanic and operated Welsh’s Garage for many years. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He loved fishing and was a member of East Main United Methodist Church.
   Survivors include four sons Jeff (Teresa) Welsh, Temple Hill, Troy Eddie (Becky) Welsh, Center, Greg (Sandra) Welsh, Fordsville, KY, and Charles (Scotty) Welsh, Glasgow; two daughters Faye (Gary) Houchens, Glasgow and Sonya Welsh, Summer Shade; ten grandchildren Amanda Goodman, Jeffrey Adam Welsh, Erin (Brett) Miller, Nick (Marsha) Houchens, Jon (Candice) Houchens, Morgan (Alan) DeWeese, Tasha Glass, Trae Staten, Robert Coulter, and Ashley (Jansen) Locher; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers Legene and Lonnie (Charlotte) Welsh, both of Summer Shade; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Marie Thrasher; and sister-in-law Wanda Welsh.
   He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Pedigo Welsh; two brothers Myron and Reid Welsh; three sisters Neva Estes, Nelda Siddens and Nella Welsh; sisters in laws Daisy Jobe Welsh and Dorothy Bellamy Welsh; and brothers in laws Herman Estes and Lewis Siddens.
   Funeral services will be Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bob Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. GARY RUSSELL MCMURTREY


   Gary Russell McMurtrey, 62, Summer Shade, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at his residence. Born October 19, 1956 in Glasgow he was a son of the late Charles McMurtrey and Arlene Morgan McMurtrey, who survives. On October 11, 1985 he married Sharon Harper McMurtrey, who survives.
   Gary retired as a rural mail carrier after 31 years; he was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He was drafted by the New York Yankees after high school graduation. He coached his sons in baseball, basketball and football. He loved hunting, golf, his farm, and he was a third generation wood worker. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
   Survivors, besides his wife and mother, include two sons, Russ (Erika) McMurtrey, Nashville, TN and Ty (fiancé Emma Wilson) McMurtrey, Summer Shade; one daughter, Emily McMurtrey, Nashville, TN; two grandsons Owen and Easton McMurtrey; two brothers, Tom (Freda) McMurtrey, Summer Shade and David (Phyllis) McMurtrey, Maysville, KY; three sisters, Jan (David) Page, Bowling Green, Laurie (Jimmy) Butler, Edmonton and Shana McMurtrey, Summer Shade; mother in law, Joyce Ann Harper, Summer Shade; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
   Funeral services will be Monday, July 8, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Bill Bushong


William Ralph “Bill” Bushong Jr., age 69, of Lexington, died July 4, 2019, at Saint Joseph Hospital Hospice Care in Lexington. Born in Louisville, he was the son of the late Dr. William Ralph and Sue (McCullough) Bushong of Tompkinsville. He was the husband of Becky (Murphy) Bushong, who survives.  They were married on Sept.21, 1975.
He was a retired commercial and residential building contractor, was a Kentucky Colonel and avid golfer and was able to live out his dream of playing The Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland in 2012.  He had served as a  Lexington Parks and Rec Girls Basketball Team Coach. A member of the Tompkinsville High School Class of 1968, he lettered in football, track and basketball.  He was the first THS student to win a Class A state championship in any sport (shot put in 1968). He received a football scholarship to University of Kentucky where he played defensive tackle for three years.  He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers.  He was inducted in the Monroe County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Molly Carr and her husband, Jonathan  “Bull”,  of Lexington,  and Becca Meadows and her husband, Ryan, of Arlington, Va.; one sister, Susan, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, Johnny and his wife, Cheryl,  of Madisonville,  Bobby and his wife, Becky, of Glasgow, and  Paul,of  Bradenton, Fl., ; five grandchildren, Briggs, Hudson, and Ella Carr and Beau and Samantha Meadows.
Gravesides services were held on Friday morning, July 6, at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery with Rodney Dickerson and Danny Neal officiating.  Serving as pallbearers were Johnny and Bobby Bushong, Jonathan Carr, Yantez and Marty Murphy, Wes and Dan Dickerson, and Tyler Street. McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade was in charge of arrangements.

Debbie Jane Davis Brown



   Debbie Jane Davis Brown, 64, Dubre, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, KY.
  Born October 5, 1954 in Dubre, KY she was a daughter of the late Gladys Onell Vibbert and Medford Davis and the wife of Glen Brown, who survives. She worked at Marrowbone Community Market and was a Christian.
   Survivors other than her husband include one daughter, Omega (Jacob) West, Pall Mall, TN; two sons Shelley (Ashley) Davis, Burkesville and Ryan (Pamala) Davis, Dubre; two brothers, Medford Wayne (Brenda) Davis, Glasgow and Cecil Joe Davis, Edmonton; nine grandchildren, Bryce, Nicholas, Haley, Gerrick, Kaden, Jacob, Colson, Sophie and Avery; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death, besides her parents by one sister Barbara Wray and one brother Jackie [Hubba] Davis.

   Jackie Lee Davis, 60, Burkesville, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019 at T J Samson Hospital. Born March 3, 1959 in Burkesville he was a son of the late Medford and Gladys Vibbert Davis.
   He was a truck driver in the logging industry.
   Survivors include one sister, Debbie Jane (Glen) Brown, Burkesville; two brothers, Medford Wayne (Brenda) Davis, Glasgow and Cecil Joe Davis, Edmonton; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death besides his parents by one sister, Barbara Wray.
   Funeral services will be Sunday, June 30, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mud Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2019, 2:00-8:00 P.M. and on Sunday June 30 after 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

  Ronald Lee Massie, 63 of Glasgow passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Born August 5, 1955 in Stamping Ground, Ky. he was a son of the late Pelham and Juanita Graston Massie.
  He worked as a stock clerk in the retail grocery industry and was of the Catholic faith.
  Survivors include one daughter, Ronda Lee Massie, four sisters Deborah (Garry) Shaw, Wanda Schinker, JoAnn (Jim) Yahnke and Bonnie (Dewey) Bratcher and two grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews Athena, CJ, Daniel, Tasia, Andrea, Larry Gene, Marcie and Amanda.
  Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son Adam Massie, one sister Anita Massie and one brother Robert Lynn Rogers.
  A ceremony will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen.

Bobby Lenwood Anderson


Bobby Lenwood Anderson, 83, Burkesville, passed away June 16, 2019, at The Medical Center, Bowling Green, KY.  Born January 1, 1936, in Burkesville, KY, he was the son of the late Gid and Emma Branstetter Anderson and the husband of the late Mardell Shaw Anderson.
He worked as a paver operator in road construction.
Survivors include one son Larry (Melissa) Anderson, Burkesville, KY; two grandchildren Tonya Scott and Donald (Amanda) Anderson; and two great grandchildren Justin Scott and Nicholas Anderson.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife was one grandson, Adam Anderson,  and a brother Thomas Anderson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Freddie Froedge officiating.  Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.

Clifton (Jackie) White



   Clifton Faye (Jackie) White, 78 of Summer Shade, passed away June 13, 2019 at his home. Born March 7, 1941 in Burkesville, KY he was a son of the late Brad and Lovie Muse White.
   He was a dozer operator and a member of the Marrowbone Baptist Church.
   Survivors include his wife of 27 years Jenny Turner White, one daughter Pamela Wilborn, one son Tony White both of Tompkinsville and one step daughter Donna (Timmy) Likens of Glasgow, KY; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister Joyce Muse of Marrowbone and one brother Denton (Joanie) White of Indiana as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
   Preceding him in death besides his parents is four sisters Margaret White, Margie Cromwell, Emogene Patterson and Mary Holland; three brothers Elmer, Preston and Sam White.
   Funeral services will be Sunday June 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Darrell Bartley and Finis Capshaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery.
    Visitation will begin Saturday June 15, 2019 from 4:00 till 9:00 and on Sunday from 8:00 am until time of service at 2:00 at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

   Randell Raymond McCoy, 75, Summer Shade, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Signature Health Care of Monroe County. Born July 12, 1943, in Glasgow, KY he was a son of the late C W and Pernie Kingrey McCoy.
   He worked at pipeline construction and was a member of the Cornerstone Church.
   Survivors include, four daughters, Rhonda (Doug) Eckerty, Gibson City, IL, Tammy (Ken Moulton, Jr.) McCoy, Portland, Maine, Darla McCoy, Champaign, Il., and Karen (Ben) Molinar, Conroe, TX; one sister, Kay (Jackie Ben) Gearlds, Tompkinsville, Ky.; two brothers, Charles (Linda) McCoy, Louisville Ky. and Mike (Irene) McCoy, Glasgow, Ky.;  sixteen grandchildren Angie Reddick, Cody and Christopher McCoy,Cayla (Bradley) Norris, Donna, Darren and Danielle Eckerty, Joshua (Meghan Antonetti) McCormick, Jessica McCormick, Dawson Sanchez, Meagan (Cody Nelson) McCoy, Kyle Beddow, Justin (Amy) Seel, Morgan (Jaharvis Allen) Seel and Ethan and Mason Molinar and 17 great grandchildren and the mother of his children Carolyn Griffith.

   Melba Lorene Brown Murley, 85, Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Barren County Nursing and Rehab. Born April 25, 1934 in Dubre, KY she was a daughter of the late Fowler and Roxie Harper Brown and the widow of the late Tommy Glen Murley. She was a member of Willow Shade Church of Christ and she had worked at Red Kap Industries.
   Survivors include one daughter, Deborah (Billy) Shoopman, Glasgow; two sisters, Mary Thurman, Edmonton and Janet (Lonnie) Parke, Dubre; three brothers, Robert Brown, Dubre, Ovell (Mary) Brown, Summer Shade, and Glen (Jane) Brown, Dubre; three grandchildren, Jonathan (LaJill) Garrett, Tompkinsville and Amber (Derek) Scott, Tompkinsville, and Trevor (Kate) Shoopman, Gamaliel; eight great grandchildren, Hayden and Braden Garrett, Chandler Birge, Aiden, Pyper, and Ella Scott, Leelan and Letty Shoopman.

   Nellie Christine Shaw, 84, Marrowbone, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born November 6, 1934 in Dubree, KY, she was a daughter of the late Finis and Tessie Abney Shaw and the widow of the late Nile Shaw.
   She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
   Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Miller, Burkesville and Rebecca Davidson, Glasgow; one son, Donnie (Lou) Shaw, Liberty; one sister Della Hare, Colombia; four grandchildren, Jenny (Travis) Puckett, Michael Chambers, Tyler (Dixi) Riley, and Chad Emmitt; and one great grandchild, Eli Puckett.
   Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, were one grandson, Donnie Shaw II; two sisters, Delpha Meredith and Lois Capshaw; two brothers, Edward Shaw and Calvin Shaw, and one son in law Larry Miller.

   Survivors include, three daughters,  April (Ryan) Matthews, Temple Hill, Candice (Ryan) Johnson, Edmonton, and Hallie (Zeke Monday) Branham, Glasgow; one sister, Becky Dubree, Summer Shade; four grandchildren, Preston Matthews, Kimber Matthews, Carson Harper and Rhett  Johnson; and one niece Terran (Jason) Caffee, Summer Shade.

   He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by one sister Tammy Branham.

   Dianna Jane Reed Embry, 72, Glasgow, KY passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at her residence. Born December 9, 1946 in Champagne, OH, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Betty Reed, and the widow of the late Harold Embry.

   She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

TERRY ALLEN WELLS




   Terry Allen Wells, 73, Summer Shade, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

   Born August 28, 1945 in Summer Shade, he was a son of the late Hershel and Agnes Barrett Wells and the husband of Sharon Reece Wells, who survives. They were married 53 years.

   He retired as bookkeeper and salesman for Hagan and Stone Wholesale. He was a Christian and attended New Life Ministry in Park City.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter, Tonya (Johnny) Travis, Glasgow; one son Tony (Deanea) Wells, Knob Lick; one sister, Lois Ann (Robert) Hurt, Summer Shade; three grandchildren, Joshua Wells, John Kendrick Travis, and Abigail Travis; and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents by two sisters, Marlene Humes and Doris Wells.

  Barbara Jean Hess Ross, age 72, of Glasgow died April 29, 2019 at NHC healthcare. She was born October 24, 1946 in Greencastle Indiana to the late Wilbur and Irma Gentry Hess. She worked in sales in the insurance industry.

  She is survived by her husband of 29 years James Ross, two daughters Tammy Lynn Cross and Kelly Sanders, one son Mike (Fabiola) Sanders, one brother Calvin Hess, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother.

Paul Huffman


  Paul Kenneth Huffman, age 88 of Summer Shade died April 23, 2019 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Born February 2, 1931 to the late Sherman and Iva Smith Huffman. He was a welder in the automotive industry.

  He is survived by one daughter Donna Huffman, Bowling Green; one sister Susan Spencer, Indianapolis, Indiana; and caregiver and special friend, Mary Kingery.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Glynn Huffman and ten brothers and sisters.

  Funeral services will be Sunday April 28, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

  Joyce Corrine Wisdom Jones, age 77 of the Flippin area died Wednesday April 17, 2019 in Florida. Born March 15, 1942 in Tompkinsville, Ky she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Berdie Matthews Wisdom. She was a farm worker and is of the Christian faith.

  She is survived by her husband of 61 years Clifton Jones, four daughters Teresa (Jeff) Dixon, Freda (John) Summers, Connie Abbs and Carolyn Warren all of Florida, three sons Stevie Jones, Chris (Missy) Jones of Florida and Joe (fiancé Laura Bryant) Jones of Tompkinsville, Sixteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

  She is also survived by two sisters Jean Smith of Ft. Run and Charlesann (Sam) Beck of Tompkinsville, three brothers Clarence Wisdom of Woodburn, Ky., Harold Wisdom of Tompkinsville and Darrell (Joyce) Wisdom of Bowling Green.

  In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by one infant daughter, two daughters in laws Mitty Jones and Tammy Jones, two sisters Ina Rigney and Hazel Whitlow.

  Funeral services will be Saturday April 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Jeff Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

   Mary Lois Shive Grider, 86, Randolph, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Metcalfe Health Care. Born October 19, 1932 in Summer Shade, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Eva Reed Shive and the widow of the late Howard Grider. She worked as housewife and was a member of Mt. Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She attended New Beginnings Church of God where she enjoyed hearing her grandson preach.

   Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Roy) Blythe, Randolph and Dana (Bobby) Parnell, Randolph; one son Danny (Martha) Grider, Randolph; four grandchildren, Wendy (Jerry) Stephens, Tammy (Daryl) Harris, Scotty (Nikki) Grider, and Josh (Tonya) Grider; six great grandchildren, Chase Stephens, Gracie Harris, Sam Grider, Katlyn Turner, Jackson Grider and Landon Grider;  one special niece, Delphia Garrett; and several other nieces and nephews.

   Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, include four brothers James, Reid, Rondal, and Earl Shive and one sister Betty Bitner.

   Clifford Thomas Spears, 79, Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at VA Medical Center in Louisville. Born August 15, 1939 in Willow Grove, TN he was a son of the late Eular and Emily Watson Spears.  He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He served 12 years in the U S Army serving three tours of duty in Viet Nam.

   Survivors include one son, Thomas Wayne Spears, Summer Shade; one sister Marie Thrasher, Summer Shade; four grandchildren Thomas Spears, Shawn Spears, Jessica (David) Edwards and Emily Spears; four great grandchildren Lillee Spears, Addlyn Spears, Riley Edwards and Emma Spears; and several nieces and nephews.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Cleston Spears.

   Funeral services will be Sunday, April 14, 2019, 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery in Cumberland County.    Joe E Cardwell, 65, Glasgow, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, April 7, 2019. Born April 18, 1953 in Rockfield, KY, he was a son of the late Martha Pauline Pardue Cardwell and Joe D Cardwell. He was the husband of Jennifer Reneau Cardwell, who survives. He worked 39 years for Lewis Bakeries and attended Union #2 Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors other than his wife include one daughter Desire’ (Kevin) Davis, Bowling Green; two sons, Michael (Jennifer) Cardwell, Madison, IN and Joe (Bridgett) Cardwell Jr, Bowling Green; three sisters, Sharon Shoemake, Morgantown, Sheila (Randy) Morgan, Russellville and Polly Dixon, Bowling Green; five brothers, Wayne (Linda) Cardwell, Bowling Green, Ronnie (Tammy) Cardwell, Morgantown, Timmy (Janice) Cardwell, NM, Chuck (Tammy) Cardwell, Bowling Green; and Jeff (Laura) Cardwell, Bowling Green; twelve grandchildren, Devin, Joseph Tyler, Jarred, Haylee, Kaylee, Courtney, Chelsee, Blake, Erika, Abby and Dylan; three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Mya, and Addilynn; mother in law, Peggy Cain and friend James Chenault;  two brother in laws Robin Reneau and Bill Porter; one sister in law Mary Lee (Willie) England; and several special nieces and nephews.

   Preceding him in death, besides his parents, are two sisters, Dixie Porter and Lynn Orange and one brother in law, Terry Shoemake.

LARRY LUTHER THURMAN






   Larry Luther Thurman, 61, of Hestand, died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his home, with his wife by his side. Born March 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Maxey Thurman and Mary Magdaline Stephens Thurman, Tompkinsville, who survives. He was the husband of Sue Ellen Higgins Thurman. He worked as a sawyer at Graham-Hammer and James Ritter Lumber. He was top salesman at Birdwell Heating and Coolant for three years. Larry donated to various charities by walking in half marathons and was a 4H Leader for the Monroe County Mavericks for 20 years. He was a member of the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors other than his wife, include three daughters, Emily (Vanessa) Thurman, Bugtussle, Alicia (Shannon)  Bowles, Glasgow and Kennedy Thurman, Tompkinsville; one step daughter Rachael (Josh) Deel, Georgetown, KY; one son Dalton Thurman, Tompkinsville; one step son Darren (Lauren) Varee, Atwater, OH; one sister Connie (Jamie) Jones, Gamaliel; one brother, Edward (Virginia) Thurman, Tompkinsville; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four nephews; and one niece.

   He was preceded in death besides his father, by one sister Pamela Jean Williams.

    Funeral services will be Sunday, April 7, 2019, 2:00 PM at Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Chad Harston officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, 3:00-8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 7, 8:00-1:30 at McMurtrey Funeral Home at which time we will move to the church for the funeral service.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Monroe County 4H or Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.

WILLIE PAUL KILLMAN




   Willie Paul Killman, 73, Summer Shade, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence. Born March 6, 1946 in Tompkinsville, Ky he was a son of the late Charles Radford Killman and Willodean Hunter Killman Jones. He married Shirley Lynn Killman May 26, 1964, who survives. He was manger of LPH Mfg. and a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.

   Survivors other than his wife, include three daughters, Tammi (Kenyon) Wallace, Glasgow, Kristi (Don) Jones, Summer Shade, and Amanda (Marty) Bailey, Summer Shade; two sisters, Runell (Dale) Cotton, Glasgow and Kathy (Tony) Adams, Summer Shade; seven grandchildren, Katie (Jason) McMurtrey, Kelsie Hodges, Christopher Cassaday, Dillon Jones, Stacy (Tabitha) Jones, Dralyn Bailey, and Denver Bailey: mother in law Eva Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents by one brother Odell Killman and one sister Glaydell Coffey.

   Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2019, at White Cemetery Chapel, with Lewis Blythe officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2019, 2:00-8:00 PM and on Friday, April 5, 2019, 7:00-10:30 at McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 11:00 AM till time of services at Whites Chapel.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department.

Sharon Sue Backner Smith


   Sharon Sue Backner Smith, 69, Burkesville, KY passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born January 27, 1950 in Akron, OH she was the daughter of the late William Backner and Lois Shirley Backner, who survives, and the wife of Stanley Smith, who survives.

  She worked as a legal secretary and was of the Church of Christ faith.

   Survivors include one brother Tom Backner, FL; and three grandchildren Miles Smith, Lane Pitcock and Maddie Harold.

   Preceding her in death besides her father includes two daughters Shelly Harold and Sheila Willis; and one sister Sally Greathouse.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen. McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

MARY JOYCE HARPER ALLEN




   Mary Joyce Harper Allen, 63, Cave City, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born January 17, 1956 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late James and Ollie Huff Harper and the wife of Larry Allen, who survives. She worked at Sharp Bedding and was a Christian.

   Survivors other than her husband include one daughter Jessica (Danny) Roark, London, KY; two sons Jerry Gass Jr, Cave City and Jessie (Ashley) Vibbert, Glasgow; three sisters, Loretta (David) Anderson, Glasgow, Carolyn  (Kenneth) Vibbert, Glasgow and Mary Lois (Roger) Watts, Summer Shade; one brother, Danny Harper, Cookeville, TN; four grandchildren, Kelsay Hedger, Corbin, Connor, and Cassidy Vibbert; one great grandchild, Ryland Turner; one step daughter, Stacy Allen, FL; two step sons Larry Allen Jr., FL and David Allen, South Dakota; four step grandchildren Alicia Gadsden, Zoie Huff, David Allen Jr and Emerson Allen.

   Preceding her in death besides her parents, are three sisters Juanita Sexton, Vonda Flowers, and Sue Ann Hurt; one brother Kenneth Harper; one great grandson Zavian Hedger and her previous husbands, Jessie [Ray] Vibbert, Sr. and Jerry Gass Sr.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Thursday, April 4, 7:00 – 10:00 at McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 11:00 till time of services at 1:00 at Lick Branch Church.

DOUG SHOOPMAN




   Charles Douglas [Doug] Shoopman, 73, Summer Shade, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence. Born April 1, 1945 in Willow Shade, he was a son of the late Alene Ballard Shoopman and James Shoopman. He was a farmer.

   Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Shoopman, Montezuma IN and Melany (Bill) Griffin, Dana, IN; three sons, Gary (Angie) Shoopman, Montezuma, IN, Terry (Debbie) Shoopman, Clinton, IN and Bruce Shoopman, Montezuma, IN; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren;  four nephews; one niece; and two great nieces.

  He was preceded in death besides his parents by five brothers, Rondal [Boomer], Michael, Robert and Gary Shoopman, and Clarence Gibbons; one sister Judy Shaw; and one grandson Garrett Griffin.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2019, 3:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday after 7:00 AM until time of services at 1:00.

DAISY SELMA JOBE WELSH




   Daisy Selma Jobe Welsh, 87, of Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at T J Samson Hospital. Born December 28, 1931, she was a daughter of the late

William and Jewell Jobe and the wife of Legene Welsh, who survives. They were married 50 years.

  She was a hairdresser and of the Church of Christ faith.

   Survivors other than her husband include one daughter, Judy (Carl) Cherry, Scottsville; one son Larry Dee (Verne), Addison, IL; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

   Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters.

   Funeral services will be Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2019, 3:00-8:00 PM and on Sunday, March 31, 2019 after 8:00 AM until time of services at 1:00.

FREDDIE LANE CUMBEE




   Freddie Lane Cumbee, 63, Summer Shade, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at T J Samson Hospital. Born December 17, 1955 in Glasgow he was a son of the late Reynold Marvin and Virginia Wheeler Cumbee and the husband of Sue Hurt Cumbee, who survives. They were married 44 years.

   He had worked as a diesel mechanic and purchasing agent for Kingsford Manufacturing and a member of the Cornerstone Church.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter Kim (Kevin) Milam, Summer Shade; two grandchildren Madison and Kylie Milam, several brother in laws, sister in laws and nieces and one nephew.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Dennis Cumbee and one sister Norma Jean Burris.

   Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Mark Park officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2019, 1:00-8:00 P.M. and Monday, after 7:00 A.M. until time of services.

JEFFERY EARL DUBREE






   Jeffrery Earl Dubree, 56, Summer Shade, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born May 20, 1962 in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Bennie Dubree and Loretta Murley Dubree, who survives.  He was a carpenter and a member of the Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

   Survivors other than his mother include one brother, Greg (Myra) Dubree, Summer Shade; one niece, Jordan [Peanut] (Lee) Harper, Edmonton; one nephew, Tyler (Maranda) Dubree, Edmonton; great niece and nephews, Jensen and Emmi Harper and Hudson Dubree; and special friend Robin Jones.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Michael Fancher officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019, 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, March 23 after 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

Mary Emogene Branham Faith




   Mary Emogene Branham Faith, 80, Louisville, KY formerly of Summer Shade passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Westport Care Center in Louisville, KY. Born June 20, 1938 in Summer Shade she was a daughter of the late Joe Bill and Delma Emberton Branham. She was the former manager of Hickory House Restaurant and a Christian.

   Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Michelle Faith (Ron) Bowman, Louisville; one son, Steven Anthony (Emily) Faith, Taylorsville, KY; three grandchildren, Timothy Price (Brittney Ann) Faith, Breonna Alane Bowman, and Tristan Blake Bowman; one great grandchild, Charley Ann Faith; one daughter in law, Bobbie Faith Head, Pendleton, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Patrick Faith, one granddaughter, Alexa Jean Bowman; two brothers, Freeman and Charlie [Buck] Branham; and five sisters Pauline Hurt, Lola Belle Bacon, Wilma Pickerell, Bessie Holmes and Mildred Perkins.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 1:00-8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 after 7:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.
