Cecil Joe ( Joey) Garmon


 

Cecil Joe [Joey] Garmon, of Carthage TN, formerly of Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022.

   Born, April 12, 1956 in Glasgow, KY he was a son of the late Norma Jean (Birge) and Otis Cecil [Brownie] Garmon. He was a retired truck driver, driving over forty years. He was of the Methodist faith.

   Survivors include his wife, Cindy Kay (Davis) Garmon; two daughters, Keisha (Casey) Butler, Pleasant Shade, TN and Courtney (Brian) King, Lafayette, TN; two sons, Matt (Amber) Garmon, Silver Point, TN and Ben (Mary Katherine) Keltner, Carthage, TN; one sister, Katie (Fowler) Branstetter, Edmonton;  eleven grandchildren, Clare, Katie Belle, Madlyn, Levi, Tinley, Adam, Maggie Jean, Darby, Tatum, Stella Jo and Opal Ann; two nieces, Andi Cook and Emily Hartmann; one nephew, Kevin Branstetter; and two aunts, Mary Lena Hammer and Ruthie Jessie.

   Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Sharlotte Garmon and one brother, Gary Garmon.

   Funeral services will Monday, August 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Goodson Chapel Methodist Church, with Beau Beechboard and Ross Brawner officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 2022, 2:00-7:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, in Summer Shade and on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Goodson Chapel Church after 9:00 A.M. at the Goodson Chapel Church until time of services at 1:00.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Cemetery.

Sweet Joey-growing up neighbors was so much fun. Joey gave me my first dog ever (Sweet Pea) He always had a smile on that cute face❤️ Prayers for everyone that will be missing you my dear old friend🙏❤️🙏 RIP
