My wife and I would like to announce the sale of McMurtrey Funeral Home. When we bought the funeral home from my family we wanted to make some improvements to be able to serve our community better. We enlarged the chapel and  installed handicap restrooms. We are proud of our improvements.

     Circumstances beyond our control forced us to sell the funeral home. We had several people interested in buying and after several talks we felt Jeff Jessie with Stotts-Phelps-  McQueary  in Columbia would keep the funeral home similar to what you have known these past 95 years.

    We want to thank everyone for letting us serve you in your time of need. I am not retiring until later. Please continue to let McMurtrey Funeral Home serve you as Jeff and I and his staff will continue to give you the best care we can
