Danny Lee McMurtrey, 80 of Glasgow, KY passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. He was born August 8, 1943, to the late Roy Lee and Mary Hoover McMurtrey. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his baby sister Glenda. Danny was a Vietnam War veteran, local owner/operator of McMurtrey Ready Mix and a farmer.
He is survived by his four children; Jeff (Melinda) Sanders, Casey Estes, Danya McMurtrey, and Lane (Daniel) Deckard, eight grandchildren; Mikayla, Brantley, Logan, Callie, Carlie, River, Caroline and Cadence, one sister Carolyn Winn, nephews Gary and Steven Winn, and his companion Frances Donaldson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December
22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the
Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 A.M. until time of the
service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Disabled American
Veterans Chapter 20 of Glasgow/Barren County.
