Kenneth Calvin (Kenny) Scott

 



Kenneth Calvin Scott, born July 12th 1953 of Metcalfe County Ky, passed away March 7th 2024 in Glasgow Ky, at the age of 70. 

He was a Christian in faith and a proud member of the NRA and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Delmer Lewis Scott, and Ruby Ballard Scott. Also brothers Stanley Lewis Scott, and Stevie Lee Scott. One sister Ola Mae Robertson, and a special friend Lorena Clark.

He is survived by four sons, Kendrick Chad Scott of Bowling Green (Wendi), Justin R. Scott of Glasgow (Amy), Jon Eric Scott of Glasgow (Elisabeth), and Cory Lee Scott of Little Barren (Marisa). Also surviving is one sister Elizabeth Ann Bowles of Hiseville, as well as 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Kenny is also survived by the mother of his children, Evelyn Thompson Scott.

Kenny was known as Wild Man or Hawgdaddy to many. He loved life and life loved him back. He is best known for his BBQ restaurant ‘Pride of The 

South’, which made it’s beginning in Sulphur Well Ky, including other locations. Everyone knows and loves the family’s smoked shredded pork and vinegar sauce.

Ken was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed both fishing and hunting wild game from Kentucky to Alaska, to Canada. He also spent time living and relaxing in Hawaii. Kenny had a strong relationship with nature and the waters around him.

A memorial visitation will be held at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade Ky. Wednesday, March 13th from 11:00am-3:00pm central time. His body was cremated, and the family will hold a graveside burial in Sulphur Well Ky immediately following. All are invited to attend.
