Karina Lynn Young Cashin


 

Katrina Lynn Young Cashin, 44 of Summer Shade, KY died Friday, May 24, 2024 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  Born in Burkesville, KY she was the daughter of the Late Guy Marty and Bea Henretta Norris Young, Mrs, Cashin was a homemaker, she loved gardening, crafting and   being around people especially her children, grandchildren and other family members She was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church.

 Survivors include her children Kelsie Cashin, Kylie Cashin both of Glasgow, Kelten Cashin of Summer Shade, one sister Letha (Doug) McPherson: three brothers Timmy (Melissa) Young, Stanley “Straw” (Peggy) Young and David Young all of Summer Shade: one grandchild Evelyn Carver and several nieces and nephews

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts Marjorie Young, Nellie Geralds and Vivian Perkins.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, May 31, 2024, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 11:00am until time for the service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

 In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Loretta Mae Garmon Huckelby


 

   Loretta Mae Garmon Huckelby, of Dubre passed away Tuesday May 21, 2024, at the Cumberland hospital having attained the age of 91 years, 1 month and 10days. She was born in the Casey’s Fork Community in Cumberland County, Ky. on April 11, 1933, to the late Herbert and Mamie Norris Garmon. She was of the Christian Faith and was a member of the Casey Fork Church. She worked at Osh Kosh for 15 years.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband Stanley Ewing Huckelby, whom she wed on June 14, 1952, her son Stanley Dwayne Huckelby, two brothers Harold and Nelton Garmon and one brother-in-law Mitchell Hare.

   She is survived by three grandchildren, Melissa (David) Fletcher, Jesse (Katherine) Huckelby and Todd (Sarah) Huckelby, one step-grandchild Elesha (Bill) Butler; ten great grandchildren, Katie (Jordan) Hunter, Elizabeth (Dakota) Cowles, William Huckelby, Mariah Huckelby, Jesse Kyle Huckelby, Natalie (Toby) Bean, Briar Huckelby, Keeley Butler, Andrew Butler and Peyton Butler and five great- great grandchildren Cotey Cowles, William Cowles, Hayden Cowles, Peyton Miller and Marshall Hunter, three sisters Covella Hare, Louise (Gene) Gibson and Linda (David) Traylor, two brothers Phillip (Betty) Garmon and Rondal (Carolyn) Garmon and several nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

   Funeral services will be Friday May 24 at 1:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marrowbone Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday May 23, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday after 8:00A.M. until time for service.

   In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Marrowbone Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.

Danny Keith Shaw


 Danny Keith Shaw, age 74 of Edmonton passed away May 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Good Luck, Ky. on July 22, 1949, to the late Rollin and Jewell Shaw. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Missionary Mound Baptist Church.

 

  He was a senior quality analyst for 36 years at R R Donnelley in Glasgow. He was a car enthusiast, musician, loved classic movies and Halloween.

 

  He is survived by four sons Matthew (Melissa) Shaw of Glasgow, Jonathan (Lisa Salmons) Shaw of Louisville, Chris (Brookie) Mullins and Lee (Kandice) Mullins of Glasgow, one daughter Carolyn (Rodney) Shaw-Chandler of Cleveland, Tn., and the mother of his sons Gaye Shaw. He also has ten grandchildren Addison, Ava and Adlee Mullins, Lilian and Parker Adair, Taw, Wylah and Kodi Mullins and Kenna and Lanna Shaw as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

  In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by one brother Wendell Shaw.

 

  Funeral services will be Saturday May 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday May 17, 2024, from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday morning after 8:00 till time of the service at 11:00.

 

  Memorials can be made to the Missionary Mound Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home

Connie Sue Paull

 


Connie Sue Paull, 73, of Edmonton, KY passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Monroe County Medical Center. She was born in Metcalfe County on April 19, 1951, to the late Junious and Opal Nance Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Smith.

Ms. Paull is of the Baptist faith and enjoyed arts and crafts, upcycling furniture, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter Candy Bowles (Edwin) of Summer Shade, KY; two grandchildren Levi Bowles (Taryn Brooks) and Lexie Bowles (Rudy Wisdom); two siblings Linda Shive (jerry) of Summer Shade, KY, and Danny Smith of Mississippi; two nephews Timmy Shive (Deborah) and Jerry Lynn Shive (Jennifer) and a great niece and nephew Kelsey and Chris Shive.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 12, 2024, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10:00am Sunday at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Avalon Russell


 

Avalon Russell, 85, of Glasgow, KY passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at his residence.  Born in Knob Lick, KY, he was the son of the late Joe Abb and Maude Ivy Pierce Russell.  Mr. Russell was retired from Donnelly’s in Glasgow and a member of the Refuge Church of Christ.

 

Survivors include his wife Lillian Hamilton Russell: one daughter, Teresa Smith “Wayne’ of Glasgow; three sons Jimmy Russell “Kathy” of Edmonton, KY, Tim Russell “ Leigh Ann” and Bobby Russell “Tracy” both of Glasgow; one brother, Larry Russell “Diane” of Park City, KY; one sister Lavada Gosher of Glasgow; seven grandchildren Jeremy, Jenny, Greg, Ben, Sarah, Trista and Natilie; several great-grandchildren, a special nephew, James Russell along with several other nieces and nephews also survive.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ashton and Jacob, his siblings Joe Lanis Russell, Nell Shockley, Lemuel Russell, Goble Russell and Louise Lemay.

 

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Friday, May 3, 2024, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday, May2, 2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Friday, morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
