Linvel Ovell Brown, 85, a beloved figure of
Summer Shade, Kentucky, sadly left our world on Sunday, September 29, 2024,
after a life richly lived in kindness. Ovell was born in Dubre, Kentucky, on
June 11, 1939, to the late Ludy Fowler Brown and Roxie Mae Harper. He was a
self-employed diesel mechanic for many years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years,
Mary Ann “Ritter” Brown; daughters, Susie Brown (Mark), Carol Brown (Josh), Jennifer
Pedigo (Jimmy), and Amanda Brown-Wyatt (Nathan); grandchildren, April Matthews
(Ryan), Candice Johnson (Ryan), Jenna Grace Pedigo, and Garrett Wyatt (Taylor);
great-grandchildren, Preston and Kimber Matthews, Carson and Rhett Johnson; brother,
Glen Brown; sister, Janet Parke (Lonnie).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his brothers, Robert and Wendell Brown; sisters, Marie Brown, Melba
Murley, and Mary Thurman; and his grandson, Corbin Wyatt.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday,
October 2, 2024, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1,
2024, and again on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral
home.
