Arthur Clyde Shirley, 84, of Summer Shade, KY beloved father, and grandfather went home to be with his heavenly father on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loved ones Clyde was born July 31, 1940, to the late Tom and Alice Shirley in Summer Shade KY. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. He married the love of his life, the late Mary Elizabeth Beauchamp Shirley on July 26, 1969, from that marriage came two children: a son and a daughter. Clyde later became a pillar to his community and a deacon in his church. He loved to sing, spend time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchild, family, and friends. He was a farmer for many years, working in construction and a carpenter by trade.
He is survived by a son: Arthur Allen Shirley and wife Trish Collins-Shirley who was his special daughter-in-law and caregiver; A daughter Stacy Lynn Shirley-Reed and husband Roger L Reed Jr. two grandsons: Jalen and Spencer Shirley; great grandson: Copelyn Shirley and 5 bonus grandchildren; Brother Leanis Shirley; Sister Clotil Gibson; brothers-in-law; John Taylor and Thomas Beauchamp; two sisters-in-law; Selma Johnson and Kathryn Carter. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Shirley; Parents: Tom and Alice Shirley; 3 brothers; 4 sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Trinity Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10:00am until time for the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Trinity Lane Cemetery.

My heartfelt condolences to my singing cousin’s beloved family. Although physically no longer present, his voice will continue to sing in the souls of those who knew and loved him!
