Nancy Lorraine Grider, 73, of Edmonton Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 18, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law who cherished her family above all. She was a faithful Christian and a devoted member of Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, living her faith through love and kindness.
In addition to her family, Nancy shared a deep bond with her long-term homecare assistant and CNA, Cindy Dennison, who provided exceptional care and compassion. Nancy held Cindy in high regard, sharing much love and gratitude for her dedication and support during her later years.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Charles Grider; her children, Petsie Ford (Chad), Charlotte Rouse (Bobby), and George Grider; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Deborah Combs and Dinneen Goodner (Bill); brothers, Bud Smith and Roy Smith (Brenda); and many extended family members and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Lorraine Akers; sisters, Zella Greene, Susie Flowers, and Jeanette Phillips; and a brother, David Smith.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 3, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Lone Star Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 11:00am-8:00pm and Friday after 8:00am until time for the service at the funeral home.
Nancy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
