Brenda Carol Taylor

 

 

Brenda Carol Taylor, 76. Of Glasgow passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital with her family by her side. Mrs. Taylor was born in Louisville, KY on July 15, 1948, the daughter of the late Joe Frank and Mary Lucille Glass Nichols. She worked at KY Pants in Glasgow until she attended school to be a License Practical Nurse at T. J. Samson Community Hospital Pediatrics for over 20 years

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Earl Taylor.

 Mrs. Taylor enjoyed playing with her cats, watching old westerns and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

 Survivors include two daughters; Rochelle Wood (Shad) Cynthia Corbin both of Glasgow; her son Michael Taylor (Brittany) of Glasgow; her grandchildren Jesse Frank Shirley (Kayla) of Tompkinsville, John Taylor Shirley (Lauren)of Summer Shade, Trevor Wood, Shadda Wood and Jameson Corbin both of Glasgow; one great-grandchild McKinley Shirley.

 Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 4PM until 8PM and on Wednesday morning from 8am until time for the service.

Lonnie Welsh

 

Lonnie Welsh, 80, of Summer Shade, KY passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Cumberland County, KY on May 17, 1944, to the late Lee and Dollie Riddle Welsh. He was also preceded in death by several siblings.

Lonnie was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed horseback riding, training and competing with bird dogs and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte Hinkle Welsh of Summer Shade, KY, a daughter Michelle Welsh of Park City, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00am on Friday at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

James "Jimmy" Preston Lane

 

 

James “Jimmy” Preston Lane, 71, of Glasgow, KY passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Glasgow, KY on August 31, 1953, to the late Preston and Elsie Jeffries Lane.

In his youth he attended Seven Springs Church and retired from IMI in Glasgow. He enjoyed sales, auctions and spending time with his family and friends, and especially his beloved dog Bella.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Teresa Finn Lane of Glasgow, KY; three children Amanda Lane Brown, Joey Lane and Jamie Clark (Todd) all of Glasgow, KY; ten grandchildren Kayla, Ressie, Shelby, Kelsey, Brailey, Chloe, Shaelyn, Kamryn, Braile, and Callee; two great grandchildren Finn and Elsye Kay and one on the way; a sister Janice Turner (Clay) and several other friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Terry Lane and infant sister Nancy Karen Lane.

The family chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Seven Springs Church. A memorial visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Tuesday at Seven Springs Church.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
