William Cleo "W.C." Shirley

 


William Cleo “W. C.” Shirley passed away on Friday April 18, 2025, at Hart County Healthcare. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Bertha Lee Shirley, parents James Cleo Shirley and Louise Marie Hayes Shirley, and siblings Gladys Smith, Dorothy Bunton and Ann Grider.

Mr. Shirley formerly attended the Randolph Baptist Church and enjoyed antiquing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children Lesa Vandehey (Roger), William Lee Shirley, Jeffrey Neal Shirley (Ronda), Melissa Faye Radford (Chris), two honorary children Donnie Lamont Tooley and Sherketa Annette Tooley, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2025 at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Randolph Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday after 11:00am at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Oren Douglas Walker

 


Oren Douglas Walker, 83, of Glasgow, KY passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Glasgow. He was born on February 18, 1942, in Barren County to the late Samuel J. and Iola Bernice Wilborn Walker. He was also preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children Mary Walker and several siblings.

Mr. Walker was of the Church of Christ faith. Mr. Walker was a truck driver and farmer. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and older music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include two children Beth Walker Hayes (Patrick) and Richard Douglas Walker (his former wife Alice) both of Cave City, KY; five grandchildren Mark Walker (Cassie Davis), Kelly Walker (Amy Wilson), Wendy Walker, Claudia Walker, and Sarah Hayes (Blake Lawler); eleven great grandchildren Katelyn and Annabelle Walker and their mother Amanda, Harlee and Wyatt Walker and their mother Joanie, Laressa Walker and her mother Jenny, Callie Jo Walker and her mother Christy, McKenzie Coenen and Traiton Elsner and their father Mark, Beckham Long and his father Tanner, Clayton, Waylon, and Colton Winchester and their father Danny.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10:00am at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
